Program Description

The Department of Multicultural Services Advanced Diversity Training Institute (DTI) is a dynamic and interactive 3-day training program that combines theory with practice to give participants the essential tools necessary to design, promote and present a variety of diversity education opportunities to students. We will share methods designed to promote general cultural awareness, as well as ways to facilitate effective dialogue between faculty, staff, and students. This year’s institute will be facilitated by author and social justice advocate, Dr. Barbara Love, professor at the Social Justice Institute in the University of Massachusetts. Advanced DTI will offer you an opportunity to explore diversity and social justice issues at a greater complexity level. Previous and new DTI participants will gain new insight from this advanced training.

We will share methods designed to promote general cultural awareness, as well as ways to facilitate effective dialogue. During this program, you will have the opportunity to learn:

  • A variety of engaging and effective experiential activities that will draw participants into the learning process.
