Fall Fusion Fiesta 2008

Celebrate Diversity with The Aggie Community

Fusion Fiesta

Fusion Fiesta is a display of Texas A&M University’s diversity of existence conceived by the Asian Presidents Council and the Hispanic Presidents Council. It shall promote the concept of diversity not only to the memberships of the organizations involved, but expose all of Texas A&M University to the cultures and traditions of peoples from all over the world. Perhaps the most striking revelation, however, will be that the world is not as big as we think. Clichéd at best, that phrase, nonetheless carries with it a great implication.

The world exposure we are hoping to create shall come not from distant continents, but from our own backyard. This event will expose students of Texas A&M University to experiences carried by their classmates and instructors. Ideas, lifestyles, cultures, heritages, and habits will be unveiled.

Fusion Fiesta is aimed to serve as a medium through which students and organizations can communicate to A&M on a global level. It will give organizations a way to share their cultures, values, and experiences with their peers, instructors, and mentors. The message is simple: diversity of existence is a concept inherent to the character of every human being and Texas A&M University is a place where this growth of character is not only acknowledged but nurtured.

The event will highlight organizations at Texas A&M University by giving them tables to display information about their culture, their organization, and their perspectives as students outside of a dominant majority. Along with the tables, the students will also be given the opportunity to perform an aspect of culture to display to the campus. The setting, content, and participants in the program shall be the best that Texas A&M University has to offer.

Fusion Fiesta is the blending of various Asian, Hispanic, International, and Aggie cultures into a multicultural extravaganza served on the rocks, with a twist!

This event is presented by Hispanic President's Council and Asian President's Council.
