A2A/Student Workshop Request

What is culture? How does culture impact the way we interact with others? This workshop highlights how culture can impact communication, conflict and decision-making process.

Audience: All Students

Time: 1-1.5 Hours

An introduction to social identities. This workshop provides an opportunity for participants to interact and learn about each other’s lived-experience. Participants will be challenged to explore their identity, self-awareness, culture and assumptions towards communities outside of their own.

What is cultural appropriation? What is appreciation? Participants will engage in an interactive conversation and identify approaches to being cultural and socially conscious Aggies. This workshop is intended for student leaders and event planners.

Audience: Student Organization Executive Leadership & Programmers/Event Planners

Time: 1-1.5 Hours

This workshop examines how power & privilege operates in our society and its impact on daily interactions. By understanding how one’s power & privilege works, participants will be able to identify how to create a more inclusive environment.

Audience: All Students

Time: 1-1.5 Hours

What are microaggressions? This workshop looks at how verbal and nonverbal statements, often made by well-intended individuals who are unaware of the hidden messages, can cause harm. Participants will learn how to identify, understand, and interrupt microaggressions.

Audience: All Students

Time: 1-1.5 Hours

This workshop is for you. Participants will be able to engage multiple topics within a workshop or experience an in depth conversation about topics related to diversity and culture.
