Mission

The mission for the Institute for Development and Education for Asian American Leaders (IDEAAL) is to assist Texas A&M in becoming a more attractive university to an increasingly diverse population. IDEAAL enhances the ability for Texas A&M to retain and attract Asian American Students while helping them develop leadership skills, a support network, and a strong sense of cultural identity.

 

 

 

Vision

IDEAAL is a leadership program created to provide leadership training and education, incorporating Asian American cultural issues affecting our campus and community. Workshops, programs, discussion forums, and peer mentoring will allow participants explore issues focusing on leadership from an Asian American perspective.

IDEAAL is designed to give participants:

• The foundation to become leaders at Texas A&M University and beyond
• Early exposure to issues of culture, leadership, and service
• The Opportunity to explore leadership and identity as it applies to Asian American Culture
• An understanding of community as it applies to Asian Americans
