The Department of Multicultural Services (DMS) supports Texas A&M University’s mission, strategic, and diversity plans and initiatives designed to fulfill the university’s commitment to an inclusive, equitable and diverse environment for students. DMS promotes the university’s core value of respect by positively impacting student and student group abilities to demonstrate openness, inclusiveness, and sensitivity, understand individuals’ differences, and respectfully interact with all people. Through intercultural competency development, we contribute to our students being better prepared to successfully transitioning into increasingly diverse workplaces. Methods include programs, workshops, and presentations regarding intersecting identities of race, religious faith, nationality, sex, class, gender, sexual orientation, and other social identities.
