DMS LINKS
Leadership, Influence, Networking, Kinship and ServiceDMS LINKS engages in thoughtful and intentional engagement and foster welcoming and community-building environments that meet students where they are for connection and engagement experiences.
What is DMS LINKS?
DMS LINKS empowers a cohort of students to:
- Support flagship DMS events where peer connections are interwoven, such as the DMS Welcome Social, Aggie Spirit Tour and L2L Summits.
- Serve as peer mentors to model wellbeing and success within DMS.
- Serve as department ambassadors to represent DMS, promote programs and services, and help amplify the DMS impact story through department tours, student panels, and other events to offer an authentic student perspective.
Participation Expectations
- Represent DMS with professionalism
- Share stories that illustrate personal growth and the DMS impact.
- Offer actionable feedback on improving student experience.
- Support a minimum of four events for the year and serve a full academic year (fall-spring).
- Participate in: onboarding, developmental meetings and check-ins and end of the year celebration.
Outcomes
- Demonstrate foundational leadership skills through event support, peer mentorship and public representation.
- Serve as a relatable mentor who meets students “where they are” and fosters meaningful engagement.
- Represent DMS with professionalism in diverse settings including tours, panels and signature events.
- Strengthen campus connections by engaging with alumni, leaders and other organizations.
- Engage in regular reflections to assess growth, challenges and future goals.

Frequently Asked Questions
To be selected a student must submit an application and be in good standing with Texas A&M University. Selection process: application review, group interview and assess availability.
The inaugural cohort of DMS LINKS took place in fall 2025.
No, you don’t need prior DMS connection to be selected. You just have to be open to learning about the DMS goals and have values representative of the department to serve as a role model or ambassador for our efforts.
No, this is a volunteering role, but there are incentives that only DMS LINKS will receive.
