Earn a Credential with L2L Journeys

The Level-Up 2 Lead (L2L) Initiative is a DMS signature skill development program, designed to help Aggies grow as leaders, collaborators and problem-solvers.

L2L Journeys take this learning a step further by giving students the opportunity to earn official recognition of their leadership journey. These digital credentials verify growth across core competencies and can be shared with employers, graduate schools and professional networks.

Two L2L Journeys

There are two journeys to L2L credentials: Leadership and Character

• The LEADERSHIP Journey requires a coaching session, any two workshops on each of the four levels and culminates with a closing coaching session and reflection on learning and application.

  • Leadership Journey Requirements:

    • Assessment tool
    • Coaching at onset
    • Attend eight workshops, choose two in each level
    • Coaching at conclusion
    • Final reflection
• The CHARACTER Journey requires specific workshops on each of the four levels and culminates with a coaching wrap-up session and reflection on learning and application.

  • Character Journey Requirements:

    • Assessment tool
    • Attend six workshops
    • Coaching at conclusion
    • Final reflection
    • Capstone project

Why Credentials Matter

Credentials matter in today’s world because they provide verifiable recognition of leadership and character development, connect learning to long-term goals, highlight skills employers and graduate programs value and provide evidence of learning through consistent engagement, coaching and reflection.

L2L Journeys are one part of the larger L2L initiative, which also includes:

• L2L Summits – conference-style leadership events each semester.
• L2L Coaching – personalized, one-on-one development conversations with trained DMS staff.
• L2L Workshops – interactive and leveled series that builds skills step by step.

By participating in L2L Journeys, students demonstrate not only what they’ve learned, but how they’ve applied it, proving they are ready to lead with purpose at Texas A&M and beyond.
