Developing Competencies & Skills fostering Student Success

The department partners with campus units and stakeholders to help meet student connection, communication, collaborative teamwork, and career preparedness needs which all work together to aid in student development and successful transition into their professional roles.  The department grows students’ self-awareness and capacities to work productively in groups and engage in social exchange with anyone. The approach is through immersive, educational, developmental, and applied skills to practice work with students to develop skills and grow competencies.

Developmental efforts support career and life preparedness as students hone their leadership, self-development, critical thinking, professionalism, teamwork, communication, equitable approach, and flexibility skills required for success at Texas A&M and that are being sought by employers to meet the dynamics of complex work environments.
