Valerie and Jimmy Williams ’83 Office Suite

Dr. Jimmy Williams ‘83 and his wife Valerie Williams (pictured) are namesake for the DMS Director office 2207.

Dr. Jimmie Williams is a recipient of the Texas A&M Distinguished Alumnus Award, considered the highest honor bestowed upon a former student of Texas A&M University and recognizes Aggies who have achieved excellence in their chosen professions and made meaningful contributions to Texas A&M University and their local communities.
Dr. Williams was honored for his notable engineering career and work co-chairing Texas A&M’s task force on diversity, equity and inclusion, which produced findings that directly impact university initiatives.

Dr. Williams is also a distinguished service professor and executive director for the Engineering and Technology Innovation Management Program at Carnegie Mellon University, was recently named to the Academy of Distinguished Graduates in the Texas A&M Department of Mechanical Engineering, and served as the first African American chair of the board of The Texas A&M Association of Former Students.

His service to the university is unbounded as he consistently seeks efforts to connect and provide opportunities to Aggies, including visiting with science, engineering, technology, and math majors in spring 2022 to advance their understanding of the STEM profession and graduate education.
