Developing Leadership Competencies & Skills for Student Success

The department partners with student organizations and campus units to help meet student transition, connection, communication, collaborative teamwork, and career preparedness needs which all work together to aid in student retention, persistence, graduation, and successful transition into their professional roles.  The student integration approach is through immersive, educational, developmental, and applied skills to practice work with students to develop competencies around transition to college, meaningful connection, communication and collaborative teamwork.

Developmental efforts support career and life preparedness as students hone their communication, critical thinking, leadership, professionalism, teamwork, equitable approach, and flexibility skills required for success at Texas A&M and that are being sought by employers to meet the dynamics of complex work environments.
